Henry Cavill To Return As Superman For Multiple DC Movies

Despite being the star of the movie that kicked off an entire cinematic universe, one that has no less than seven films scheduled for release by the end of 2022, we still haven’t heard anything about a Man of Steel sequel. Indeed, in recent years, Henry Cavill’s Superman has found himself as the forgotten man of the franchise after leading the DCEU’s first outing and then playing second fiddle to the Dark Knight in his next appearance and, finally, having his role reduced to what basically amounted to an extended cameo in Justice League.

Though much of the entertainment industry is still in lockdown due to the Coronavirus and the quarantines imposed to help stop its spread, streaming services are thriving like never before. Netflix and Amazon Prime have both been seeing record viewing figures, while Disney Plus subscriptions are through the roof. X-Men: Days of Future Past was an ambitious and successful hybrid that managed to act as a sequel to both the original trilogy and the rebooted timeline at the same time, but it would be fair to say that the main installments in the mutant franchise never managed to hit those heights again. While it wasn’t a disaster on the same sort of scale as Dark Phoenix, Apocalypse was nonetheless a major disappointment that wasted one of the most iconic villains in comic book history and squandered a lot of audience goodwill in the process.

Secret Wars Movie Will Reportedly Introduce A New Tony Stark

Iron Man met a heroic, tragic end in Avengers: Endgame, so it looks like Robert Downey Jr. has made his last major appearance in the MCU. He might have a cameo in Black Widow and a voice role in the Ironheart TV show, but he won’t be taking part in any future team-up movies. Another Tony Stark might, though, as a Secret Wars film adaptation is on the way and it could allow Marvel to introduce a different version of the Armored Avenger.
