X-Men: Dark Phoenix Producer Says Disney Deal Isn’t Why The Franchise Is Ending

This June’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set to be the final entry in, if not the whole franchise, then at least the mainline X-Men movie series. With Disney having taken over Fox and Marvel Studios reclaiming the rights to the characters, this will spell the last outing for the mutant proteges of James McAvoy’s Professor X. According to one of the producers, though, it was always the intention that Dark Phoenix wrap things up, with the decision coming from a creative standpoint long before the Disney buyout took place.

Another New Weapon’s Been Revealed For Thanos In Avengers: Endgame

The few Avengers: Endgame trailers and promos we’ve had so far have given us a lot of footage of those heroes still standing after the Decimation, but one person who we haven’t seen much of just yet is their nemesis Thanos. We did get our first official glimpse at the villain’s new appearance thanks to the cover of a recent issue of Empire a few weeks ago though and now, with the release of a number of new Endgame toys, we’re starting to form a better idea of what armor he’ll be donning in the film and which weapons he’ll be wielding.

Why The Original Iron Man Still Holds Up After More Than A Decade

Over the past decade, The Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown into the most successful movie franchise of all-time. There has been almost two dozens released under the Marvel Studios banner, all of which have succeeded with critics, fans and at the box office. It all began with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, which was released almost 11 years ago in 2008. The film starred Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, who blew the world away with his compelling performance. Now, it’s hard to even imagine any other actor filling these heavy iron boots. With Avengers: Endgame set to feature Downey Jr. portraying the beloved Marvel Comics character for the final time, it’s now an appropriate time to look back at the first Iron Man film that still manages to hold up to today’s standards.
